Job Title: Reverse Logistics Field Engineer/Technician
Location: Council Bluffs, IA & Domestic/International Travel
Travel: Up to 60-80% (Domestic & International)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

Contract duration: Ongoing W2 Contract thru end of 2026 for now 

Data center experience required


Job Description:

Role: Perform work at customer sites across the Americas working with the fellow Reverse Logistics team members. The Reverse Logistics team is responsible for returning new and used customer material from site back into inventory. The team receives requests from engineering groups within NetOps that complete deployments across the Americas region. The material is thoroughly audited  on site, noting condition and hardware configuration, packaged, staged for shipping, and collected to be brought safely back from sites to be sorted, refurbished, and redistributed per the direction of the customer. In this role, the technician is expected to perform comprehensive and accurate quality checks to be used by other teams when determining re-use viability.

Daily activities:  
  • Working at customer sites across the Americas
  • Booking travel as required to support for upcoming field activity
  • Adhering to customer security and safety policies
  • Supporting the preparation of upcoming projects with research and feedback at team meetings prior to project start dates 
  • Performing part identification and data input into inventory management and other customer systems 
  • Performing product configuration and quality assurance checks and updating all quality assurance documentation as required
  • Safe removal of telecom equipment on customer sites
  • Safely packaging of customer equipment according to our packaging guidelines
  • Preparation of material for safe shipping and completion of handovers to courier teams
  • Auditing and recording relevant information on all items being collected from site
  • Attending and contributing to regular team meetings
  • Providing feedback of weekly activity on team meetings
  • Updating documentation and raising change requests for product configurations, attributes, and packaging allocations
  • During quieter periods contribution to ongoing projects will be required
  • Performing product refurbishment support
  • Creating and updating product configuration documentation
  • Serving as SME regarding part identification and customer’s specified product configuration as well as reverse logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhering to customer security and safety policies
  • Submitting of weekly expense reports following company guidelines 
  • Attend all customer team meetings as required
  • Adhere to all aspects of health and safety in warehouse including safe handling of ESD components
  • Adhere to all travel policies
  • Client confidentiality must be adhered to at all times 
  • Other duties as assigned, management reserves the right to add or delete duties as deemed appropriate.


This role will require Mon - Fri 40 hours per week

Qualifications
5 years experience working in the telecom field
Practical understanding of inventory control and management systems
Computer literate, intermediate level Google docs suite and MS Office365 applications
Basic understanding of spreadsheets
Comfortable and effective working without direct supervision
Experience working with or strong knowledge of electronics/telecommunication hardware
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience handling and resolving customer queries in a professional manner

Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication in English
Excellent personal organization and business administration skills
Attention to detail and ability to work with a high level of accuracy
Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities
Ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timelines and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
Good team building and interpersonal skills

Other
Ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak periods
Ability to travel abroad offsite meetings, company related functions, etc. with short notice.
Valid driver's license 
Ability to travel approximately 60-80% of the time
