Component Development Technician

Job Description
Typical task breakdown:
- In this role the candidate will read test plans, set up equipment, execute tests, collect data, communicate results, and tear down equipment.
- Certain tests will require troubleshooting to ensure accurate data collection and innovation to develop custom test configurations.
- Manage and maintain equipment and calibration status.
Interaction with team:
- The position will collaborate with facility technicians and engineering to support preparation of test unit and test cell.
- The position may need to provide specific details to engineering to help with resolution of problems with the test and product.
Work environment:
- This position works in a Generator Set test cell and areas where generator sets will be assembled and instrumented for test.
Education & Experience Required:
- 2-yr associates degree in Electronics Technology, Diesel Power, or a related field and 2-4 years of work experience
- OR a 4-yr engineering technology degree
- OR High school diploma or GED required with at least eight + years technical experience

- Knowledge of safe work and test practices
- Knowledge of electrical components, generator sets, and testing equipment
- Working knowledge of relevant computer applications like Microsoft Office and test measurement software
- Working knowledge of test equipment like multimeters, soldering/harnessing, strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure transducers, proximity probes, telemetry, DAQ systems, hand tools
- Candidate must have previous experience working in a lab / testing environment.
- Candidate must have an operational knowledge of generator set assembly and operation.
- Candidate should have a strong electrical and mechanical background.
- Candidate should have test experience with engines or generator sets.
- Candidate should have proven experience working on a team.
