Data Engineer II

Duration:12 months
Location: Virtually - NC, SC, FL, KY, or OH

This position is responsible for development, consulting and validating of security logs analytics from various security and IT services. The CW will be working within the Cyber Security Operations Center to assist in maturing and enriching cyber investigations.

Project Scope:
- Large-scale data modernization and migration
- Designing, scaling, and implementing AWS Security Lake
- Data transformation and standardization
- Supporting cyber investigators, insider threat team, and data protection team
- Migrating data from Splunk to AWS Security Lake

Must haves:
- Strong AWS experience (multiple years, very solid hands-on expertise)
- Direct experience with AWS Security Lake (design, scale, implementation)
- Experience handling 100+ data sources at scale
- AWS Services: S3, Glue, Terraform
- Programming Languages (Required)
- Python
- PowerShell
- JavaScript
- Interest in cybersecurity
- Strong culture fit (innovative, collaborative mindset)
- Must be USC or GC (USC preferred due to sensitive/critical infrastructure data)
- Must reside in: NC, SC, FL, KY, or OH

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Splunk: Current system housing their data, Ad hoc querying, Understanding data sources/fields before migration
- Cribl: Data pipeline tool, Uses JavaScript for transformations, New to the team
- Query AI: not required, training provided
- OCSF formatting
- SIEM experience
- Azure (Sentinel, ADX)
- Microsoft Defender
- Cybersecurity background
